UCB is looking for a broadcast journalist to join the News Team at the Broadcast Centre in Stoke-on-Trent – to start in January.

The role will involve news reading, recording/editing, reporting, two-way features with presenters and sourcing original stories for a range of radio programmes. You will also know how to utilise social media to communicate UCB News.

UCB includes three Christian radio stations and one television channel, available on digital radio, online and the UCB Player app and 2016 sees the launch of our second national radio station on DAB.

To strengthen our news coverage even further we are looking for a new member of the News Team who can hit the ground running. You will need a good voice for radio, an understanding of Broadcast Law, suitable journalistic experience and you will be expected to have a working knowledge of Christian organisations and Church activity in the UK and abroad.

Your ability to write for radio needs to be excellent. You will need to demonstrate your experience of broadcast journalism and provide examples of original stories that you have generated.

Your shift pattern may vary from week to week, Monday to Friday, working in conjunction with other colleagues. You will be expected to adhere to United Christian Broadcasters’ vision and purpose and be a strong team player able to provide a distinctive service of news from a Christian perspective.

Salary: £19,000 plus a selection of staff benefits
