Heat radio is looking for a first class programme manager who lives the heat life…. Someone to help us grow the station on-air, on-line and through social media.

Key Purpose of the Role: Heat Radio Programme Manager

  • Plan, research and prepare monthly programming schedules/planners with Content Director
  • Plan and implement all presenter leave and cover
  • Forward plan all series/shows/features with Content Director
  • Attend all heat brand meetings, representing radio specifically with a creative outlook on cross platform content development and supporting wider heat projects
  • Schedule music for the station as requested
  • Working with the music scheduler to generate a weekly music playlist that represents the tone and essence of heat
  • Forward plan and implement NTR ideas on-air and via social media
  • Research and book station guests/artists through strong relationships with PR’s/Pluggers/record companies and the Bauer Ents Hub.
  • Work closely with commercial programming teams to develop and deliver S&P content to air in a creative and heat style.
  • Produce heat programming as directed by the Content Director
  • Maintain and alter programme clocks in Selector as necessary, in conjunction with Imaging Producer
  • Overall editorial guidance for heat Radio
  • To ensure all engineering issues are dealt with promptly and that all station systems are maintained and run efficiently
  • Station admin:
  • Administer and implement all freelance payments
  • Own/maintain necessary email groups
  • Oversee training and development of new staff
  • Lead weekly team meetings
  • Qualifications and experience required to do this role
  • Detailed and in depth knowledge of contemporary pop music
  • Solid working knowledge of radio playout systems
  • Music programming experience, good working knowledge of RCS/Selector
  • Leadership skills, teambuilding skills and managing talent
  • Detailed experience in audio editing software and radio production techniques
  • Experience in radio presentation
  • A good working knowledge of OFCOM and media law/compliance
  • Good internet and social media awareness and understanding
  • Working knowledge of all standard Microsoft Office programmes, including Powerpoint and Excel.
