Wanted! Experienced & Enthusiastic Junior Publicist in Entertainment PR Cameo Productions is an established London-based broadcasting consultancy and audio production house, specialising in radio campaigns for new entertainment releases. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and informed junior publicist to join our publicity team. You will be eager to work in entertainment PR, with a proven interest in film, radio and digital media.

Our clients are major movie studios, film distribution and entertainment companies. Cameo’s audio press kits, based around our interviews with the world's best-known and emerging stars and filmmakers, provide UK and Irish radio stations with everything they need to cover the latest releases and secure our clients great exposure. From our in-house recording studio we conduct ISDN interview sessions, putting radio presenters in direct contact with talent in broadcast quality audio.

You’ll be our Junior Publicist, reporting to our Publicist and Publicity Manager and overseeing the duties of our team assistant. You will be responsible for writing press releases and newsletters, selling in guests to radio shows, arranging interview schedules, ensuring the smooth running of interview sessions, liaising with the production team on technical requirements and working in tandem with a producer during interview sessions. You will also attend client briefings, produce creative radio campaign proposals for our clients, secure merchandise competitions with radio stations, invite presenters and producers to preview screenings, compile campaign wrap reports, attend screenings, manage relationships with radio stations and ensure contacts are kept up to date, handle enquiries from stations and clients, manage packing and distribution of merchandise, general office duties including answering phone and emails.

Ideally, you will have approximately one year’s experience in a related industry with a sound knowledge of media in all its forms. Education to degree level is preferable and strong communication skills are essential. Our work is heavily reliant on computers so it’s vital you are internet savvy and can prove you know your way around Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. You should be able to multi-task and pick up new skills quickly, remain calm under pressure and be willing to go the extra mile when things are busy. A natural flair for building new relationships and strengthening existing ones with radio stations, clients and staff is vital to the post.

A flexible approach to working hours is required as you'll be expected to attend some preview film screenings in the evenings and may also be required to work the occasional weekend or bank holiday at an industry event. In summary, the successful candidate needs to demonstrate:

  • previous PR experience
  • excellent communication skills
  • the ability to write clear, concise and engaging copy for proposals, press releases and emails
  • a passion for, and a sound knowledge of, media and the entertainment industry, particularly radio and film
  • a friendly and professional demeanour due to frequent contact with clients, radio stations & talent
  • an ability to remain calm under pressure
  • first-rate prioritising and multi-tasking abilities
