MAP Media Development Worker (Radio) - 37 hours per week, £24,134 - £26,728 As the key operational member of staff based in HMP & YOI Grampian, you will work alongside the MAP Project Co-ordinator to develop and implement an effective media focussed, prison based intervention programme. You will primarily be responsible for the development and delivery of the radio component of the Project within the prison, devising and delivering an appropriate training and production programme for all participants (young offenders, and adults male and females under the age of 30).

You will also be instrumental in supporting the wider staff team in the successful delivery of the other media based programmes and operations within the prison (film, music and magazine production). You will have the responsibility for gathering all monitoring and evaluation materials and oversee the accreditation of qualifications for participants within the prison. You will develop and maintain effective partnership relationships with a range of stakeholders within the prison and represent the Project at the MAP Project Management Group and SPS Case Management Board meetings.

Station House Media Unit (shmu), at the forefront of community media development in the UK, operates across the regeneration areas of Aberdeen and with other disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals and groups across the region.

The organisation is undergoing a significant period of growth and are recruiting posts to support and develop our core services.

We have also recently secured £896,326 from the Big Lottery Fund to deliver the Media Access Programme (MAP), which will offer a transformational programme in HMP & YOI Grampian supporting participants, aged between 16 and 30, to make a successful and sustained transition back into the community using media (radio, film, music and magazines) as a unique platform to address a range of barriers.
