We’re looking for an experienced hit music-loving studio producer to join the Capital Network team, working on one of the station’s flagship shows - The Capital Late Show with Marvin Humes.

Marvin delivers hottest hits, brand new tunes & mixes Mon – Thurs from 10pm, and is the official start to the Capital Weekend every Friday from 7pm. You will share Marvin’s passion for music whilst at the same time being confident in creating cutting edge content, sometimes featuring some of the world's biggest stars, for the UK’s No.1 Hit Music Station – on radio, on TV, online and on social.

We’re looking for a creative and pro-active producer with experience/knowledge of working with a youth (15-34 millennial) brand audience. You must have fantastic talent management skills, as well as the creativity and strategic planning skills to drive shows forward – striving to do things differently to help us remain the industry leader in hit music radio.

You will be responsible for all elements of a show’s output, from generating ideas through to the recording and editing of content, sometimes operating the live studio (driving the desk) as well as driving listenership through online and all social media platforms. You will be responsible for implementing station competitions, production, events, and more, on the shows for which you are responsible.

You will report directly to the Deputy Managing Editor and Senior cross platform managing editor of Capital and work very closely with the Managing Editor, Management Team and on air talent to produce a show that targets and grows the station's core audience.

You will also be required to work with the digital, video, press and marketing teams to ensure your content and shows gain maximum exposure driving listenership.

What you’ll be doing:

You'll work in the on air studio, in a live show environment on a daily basis, and drive planning and creative sessions for the show each day. You'll be obsessed with the finer details that go into making every piece of content succeed and have a natural thirst to make things better the following day. You’ll sometimes drive the live desk You will take the lead on social during the show, finding new and exciting ways to engage and grow audience using the show's and station’s tone of voice. You'll have a thorough understanding of broadcast regulations and law, and be able to apply this understanding in the pressure of a live studio environment. You’ll keep the show diary up-to-date making sure we have a regular flow of relevant content ensuring the show is reflective of what our core demographic are talking about in that day-part. You’ll liaise with the key departments across Global Radio including marketing, online, press & engineering to get the best from the planned content. This is a studio producer role, not an audio or imaging producer.

You will have a keen interest / passion for the music broadcast at during this day part (hottest hits, brand new tunes & mixes) A natural problem solver; together with your creative flair and judgment you'll choose the right programming solutions for Capital. You'll be able to manage some of the best talent in the industry, and have the knowledge to gain their respect and coach them to achieve their full potential. You'll know and respond positively to the needs and expectations of others to achieve the right outcome. You'll understand the target audience inside out and have a sound understanding on how to grow audiences. You'll be confident when working towards your own personal objectives as well as helping others in achieving business goals, regularly setting and stretching new standards and goals. You'll have loads of experience from working in a similar type of role. You'll be confident using Genesys, Adobe, Gusto online content management systems (or similar), confident using radio studio equipment and set-ups and should be competent on social media including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.
