Location: London (1 day a week)

As a Travel broadcast journalist for Global Radio you will be part of one of the largest commercial news rooms in the UK. You will be delivering traffic and travel news for Global Radio’s leading brands. Focusing on delivering travel news on LBC’s UK and London service.

You will have a strong broadcast voice and be an excellent writer. You will have experience of working in a busy travel news environment and understand how to target your bulletins to your audience.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be researching and presenting travel news bulletins on a newsdesk that also supplies Smooth, Capital FM, Heart, Classic FM, Gold and XFM.

You’ll be passionate about sourcing and writing original, exciting travel news content across multiple platforms.

You will have sound legal knowledge and understand the OFCOM broadcasting code.

What we expect of you


You’ll need to be an experienced journalist capable of making editorial decisions with confidence. You will ideally have experienced travel news and will comfortable with breaking news and working alongside the news desk.

You will help the Senior journalists and Head of News to ensure the newsroom operates to the best of its abilities.

You’ll have excellent networking skills, with experience of contributing to effective contacts databases.

You’ll have a good knowledge of London and the UK’s transport network.
