Global, the media and entertainment company, and home of the biggest commercial radio brands Capital, Heart, Classic FM, LBC, Smooth, XFM, Capital XTRA and Gold, has announced the creation of a new national charity, Global’s Make Some Noise.

On-air activity started today across all eight Global brands and will continue over the coming weeks. Global’s Make Some Noise will award grants to projects across the country that help children and young people affected by illness, disability, bereavement or lack of opportunity.

More than 23.2 million listeners tune into Global brands every week. On Thursday October 9, Global’s Make Some Noise will bring all these listeners together with presenters from across Global brands, some of the biggest names in music and entertainment, as well as Global’s clients and partners to raise as much money as possible to change young lives.

Stephen Miron, group CEO of Global, said: “Global has evolved incredibly over the past six years and it has always been our ambition to bring all our brands together under one charity. Global’s Make Some Noise gives us a great opportunity to fulfil this ambition. As with everything we do at Global, it’s big, it’s bold and it’s going to make a real difference to charities that deliver life-changing work and give youngsters a brighter future.”

Ashley Tabor, founder & executive president of Global, added: “At Global we’re passionate about music and entertainment. I couldn’t be prouder that, with Global’s Make Some Noise, we’re using that passion to make a real difference to young people’s lives in the communities to which we broadcast.”

Richard Park, group executive director & director of broadcasting at Global, commented: “Every Global brand is going above and beyond to produce great on-air content for Global’s Make Some Noise. What we have planned is truly special.”
