Global’s Make Some Noise is here! Today (Thursday 9 October) Capital, Heart, Classic FM, LBC, Smooth, Capital XTRA, XFM and Gold unites 23.2 million listeners across the UK to change young lives.

The day will be packed full of spectacular events, celebrity guests and once in a lifetime prizes.

Some of the biggest stars from music and entertainment are also lending their support to Global’s Make Some Noise. Just some of the names dropping by include Taylor Swift, Jessie J, Olly Murs, Ariana Grande, David Guetta, Sam Smith, The Vamps and Alfie Boe.

Global’s Make Some Noise is not to be missed, just some of today’s highlights are:

The Capital London breakfast show with Dave Berry and Lisa Snowdon was at The Shard with Taylor Swift. Lisa Snowdon had to wash the windows on the top floor of The Shard, after she lost the fundraising battle against Dave Kelly - a challenge set by Taylor Swift.

On Heart, Jenni Falconer launched the 12-hour ‘Bike Some Noise’ challenge for Global’s Make Some Noise. Jenni will be joined by fellow Heart presenters including Jamie Theakston, Emma Bunton, Stephen Mulhern and Emma Willis, plus special guests and 22 local champions – each with a special connection to the charities Global’s Make Some Noise is supporting.

They will all be cycling the equivalent of the 874-mile journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats, on the roof of Global’s London studios in Leicester Square. Each cyclist will help power a sound system to keep Heart’s ‘More Music Variety’ playing all day long.

Classic FM has gathered stars including Katherine Jenkins and Alfie Boe along with Classic FM presenters including Myleene Klass, Alexander Armstrong, Aled Jones and John Suchet to record a single for Global’s Make Some Noise. The piece, entitled Steadfast, has been composed by Classic FM’s Howard Goodall and will be recorded today at Air Studios.

XFM has marshalled some of the biggest names in music for Global’s Make Some Noise. Their exclusive Evening with Noel Gallagher sold out within a minute of going on sale this week but there are still a few tickets up for grabs today. There is also a very special treat for all Kasabian fans.

Across all eight brands there are incredible auction prizes on offer. From the chance to meet some of the world’s biggest stars and tickets to exclusive shows, gigs and festivals, to trips to New York and the Caribbean, there are opportunities for listeners to donate whatever they can to Global’s Make Some Noise.

100% of all donations will go to Global’s Make Some Noise. The money will support projects that help children and young people affected by illness, disability, bereavement or lack of opportunity, across the country.
