Starting this Friday at 9am, the UKIP leader will be answering whatever question LBC want to ask him - with no topic off-limits.

He joins senior political figures from all major political parties in hosting regular LBC phone-ins, including Nick Clegg, Boris Johnson and Harriet Harman.

The announcement comes after the defection of Douglas Carswell to UKIP and ahead of the Clacton by-election, one of the most significant moments in the party’s history.

Mr Farage said: "I've always enjoyed being challenged on LBC and Phone Farage is a great opportunity to give even more people the chance to take me to task and hold me to account. If you've ever thought, 'I wish I could give that Farage a piece of my mind' well, here's your chance."

James Rea, managing editor at LBC added: “Our phone-ins with national political figures continue to set the news agenda. LBC is the only station that gives listeners direct access to high profile politicians.

"Ahead of next year’s General Election, with Nick Clegg, Harriet Harman, Boris Johnson and the addition of Nigel Farage, we now have representatives from across the political spectrum."
