Cornwall’s Pirate FM has extended its local news coverage, with the launch of a brand new video news service.

The station's first daily bulletin was broadcast online this morning (Mon 6th October), presented by Head of News Tristan Hunkin. It featured three of the stories being featured on-air, filmed at Pirate FM's Cornwall Newscentre in Redruth.

"Pirate FM News has a long history of breaking news first on-air and online. We're proud to be moving on screen too.” says Tristan.

"We'll be ensuring viewers can always watch the latest bite-sized bulletins and promise to keep the cat videos to a minimum."

Pirate FM’s team of journalists live and breathe Cornwall, and using the latest in technology will continue to cover the stories that matter with audio, photos, and now video too.

This is combined with the daily weather and surf conditions.

Mark Peters, Pirate FM's Managing Director said: "The way people consume information in 2014 is vastly different to even 5 years ago. Video news is just one of the many new products and services in the digital arena that the Pirate Brand is to offer, the great ROI that businesses enjoy from Pirate FM is now available through online channels too.”

The Pirate FM video news bulletins are available every morning online at PirateFM.co.uk, @PirateFM on Twitter, and also on the Pirate FM Facebook page. You can watch the first one here.
