Britain’s largest Christian broadcaster reached its biggest-ever audience in its near twenty years history during the three months from April to July this year, according to the latest RAJAR figures.

Premier Christian Radio’s weekly reach for the period was 240,700 people in London and the South East, compared with a previous high of 235,000 people in 2011. The new figure also represents a substantial increase from the 97,500 listeners in the first quarter of 2014 and 156,000 one year ago – a 54% year-on-year increase and 147% quarter-on-quarter.

The latest RAJAR figures - the joint audience research measurement system agreed by the BBC and commercial radio – also show that each listener tunes-in to Premier Christian Radio for an average 10.1 hours each week.

Commenting on the latest rise in Premier’s audience figures, Programme Director Dave Rose said today; “Our team has worked hard over the past few months to make Premier Christian Radio a must-listen for Christians in the UK. We’ve invested heavily in improving the quality of our programming and we’re pleased to see that our efforts are having a marked effect.

“Our improved on-air output and recently re-vamped website, with listen-again features, will continue to be fundamental in our mission to spread the word of God and celebrate Christianity.”

Premier Christian Radio broadcasts on 1305, 1332, 1431 MW in London and nationally on DAB and Freeview 725.
