Greatest Hits Radio is a local classic hits radio station for the Greater London area.
The station originally launched as Virgin 105.8 in October 1995, providing a local version of the national Virgin 1215 through the day and then took the national programming at other times.
Eventually Virgin's London service was allowed to merge with the national station except for commercials, news and travel.
The station relaunched as Absolute Radio in 2008 after being acquired by The Times of India and was later sold to Bauer Media in 2013.
In May 2021, the station flipped format from AOR to Classic Hits as Greatest Hits Radio, an existing digital radio station for the capital replaced Absolute Radio on 105.8 FM. Absolute continues in the capital on DAB, online and on tv platforms such as Sky, Freeview and Freesat.
Greatest Hits Radio provides local news, travel and weather with programming from across the UK including mid-mornings and drivetime from GHR's London studio at One Golden Square.
