News Planner/Multimedia Journalist

Made TV, the UK’s largest local TV provider, is looking for a News Planner/Multimedia Journalist for an immediate start. Your role will be to plan and organise the news diary as well as helping to develop our online and digital offerings. This includes updating the website, our ‘Auto News’ service, ‘On View’ player and social media sites. The successful candidate will also, on occasion be required to film and edit news stories and help with the production of our nightly news programme Bulletin.

Salary: TBC

Key Responsibilities:

Working alongside the News Editor to….

  • Compile the prospects and plan the news diary
  • Write news stories for the rundown
  • Manage and maintain the website
  • Manage social media pages
  • Update ‘Auto News’

Essential Knowledge/Skills:

  • BJTC trained journalist
  • Interest in news and current affairs
  • Good writing skills
  • Can operate a video camera
  • Can do basic video editing (Premiere Pro)
  • IT skills
  • Proficient with social media
  • Good knowledge of media law
  • Good knowledge of the Ofcom code
  • Must have full driving licence

Experience:

  • At least 1 year industry experience

  • Driven
  • Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously
  • A strategic individual with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively whilst managing multiple tasks
  • Confident communicator
  • Calm under pressure
  • Team player
