Boat International Media is the is the world’s leading media company in the superyacht space, producing market leading magazines and books (BOAT International, Showboats in the USA, and Dockwalk for captains and crew), curating high quality events including industry leading Awards and Regattas, and operating websites which generate in excess of 400,000 visits and 3.5 million pageviews a month.

In 2014 we revamped our editorial offering, retaining the core yachting content but also expanding beyond the marine sector to reflect the lifestyle of our HNW affluent readership. We have also targeted non-marine and luxury clients, explaining the quality of our audience, and what we can offer in terms of access to this hard to reach audience.

We are building success in this area, with new relationships with the likes of Armani Casa, Dolce & Gabbana, Stefano Ricci, Bremont, George Pragnell, Misahara, Temple St Clair, Moncler, Netjets, Northacre, Rolls Royce, Omega, Loro Piana, Knight Frank International, Lasvit, Molteni and Kartell amongst many others.

To build on this, we are looking to recruit additional Luxury Brand Executives and Account Managers within the commercial team and are keen to talk to people who have experience within the following sectors:

  • Luxury Travel, Hotels, Destinations
  • Jewellery and watches
  • Property/real estate and interiors
  • Cars, speed etc.
  • Auction houses and art
  • Bespoke craftsmanship

Your responsibilities as a Luxury Brand Executive / Account Manager will include:

  • Achieving monthly and annual sales targets
  • Understanding client needs and proposing appropriate solutions – across print, events and digital
  • Developing excellent relationships with clients
  • Generating new business
  • Accurately forecasting revenues
  • Effectively managing a pipeline of prospects for short, medium and long-term success
  • Liaising with clients and agencies, and navigating the relationship between various stakeholders and influencers
  • Work in tandem with the editorial, events and digital development teams to ensure a seamless service to our commercial partners and clients
  • Help with the development of new and innovative products

Members of the non-marine/luxury team are expected to manage relationships with a number of specific clients, and also crucially to undertake business development work, including winning new business and finding new clients. We are at the start of our journey in the non-marine categories, and we need people who will help us build this business over time.

  • Work in tandem with the editorial, events and digital development teams to ensure a seamless service to our commercial partners and clients
  • Help with the development of new and innovative products Applicants should have:
  • Proven track record in commercial sales, including clear experience within in a non-marine sector or sectors as listed above
  • A positive can-do attitude, with tenacity to the fore
  • Team working skills, coupled with the ability to be self-reliant where necessary
  • Experience of selling across different channels, and understanding of the different merits of print, digital and events products
  • Business development skills
  • A familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce or similar)
  • A genuine understanding of what “luxury” means

It is desirable but not essential to also have:

  • Language skills – French, German, Dutch, Spanish and Italian are all highly valued in our company
  • Education to degree level
  • High quality PC skills (Excel, Powerpoint etc.)
  • An interest in sailing and or yachting

The Luxury Brand Executive / Account Manager role will be UK based from our offices in Wimbledon, South West London, but may offer the opportunity for international travel, depending on client locations.
