Bristol Cable unlocks £40,000 grant after meeting membership funding target

The independent outlet currently makes £115,000 annually from members.

Update 2, 29 August 2024: The Bristol Cable has met its target of increasing its annual membership income by £60,000 days ahead of its deadline.

This means the non-profit co-operative organisation has unlocked a £40,000 grant, which was offered if it managed to meet its goal of boosting its membership revenue by 50% by 31 August.

The Cable’s strategy lead Eliz Mizon announced in a video on 27 August: “We did it folks. Thanks to you, the people of Bristol, we not only hit 100% but we actually went over our target and hit 105%.
