Hi folks,

Can anyone reccomend a good tower PC manufacturer? I need three towers - a playout machine and an internet machine for my home studio and then a general machine for the office. I'm looking to spend roughtly £300 a piece.

Dell might be a good place to look James. How do you plan to export your playout music? Analogue ie: from PC to mixer or digitally?

For the general machine, I've got a Zoostorm PC who do value budget towers which I've had for four years and is as reliable as the first day I purchased the unit.

I'd check first to see if the general unit has a HDMI port, as mine only has VGA and DVI. I'm perfectly happy using DVI as it goes up to 1920x1080.

Hi James,

I bought two ZooStorm PCs when I started Chris Country - they were on eBuyer and cost around £200 (without monitors) each. I just wanted two solid machines with Windows to run PSquared on. They've been running 24/7 ever since, with the occasional reboot. One is the server, the other is the playout machine that also sends the output to our streaming.

Hope that's some help :)

Novatech are always good in my experience. You can specify exactly what you want - so for example you don't need to waste money on a crazy graphics card or disc drive if you don't need it, but up-rate say sound card. Their customer support is UK based and really helpful
