What’s it all about:

Working as part of the programming team in Birmingham, you will assist in the daily creation of compelling ‘stand out’ content for our breakfast shows to drive audience growth. You’ll deliver accurate, market leading travel information gathered from a number of sources as well as preparing callers and guests for broadcast.

What you’ll be doing:

Using a number of sources, you will compile accurate and useful travel scripts for Heart, Capital and Smooth. Working as part of the breakfast teams predominantly Heart, you will create compelling content for our team(s) on a daily basis. Briefing guests and callers for use on air to make sure we get the very best content from them. Deputising for the relevant breakfast producers. Manage the breakfast content for each station’s website. Contributing to creative brainstorms to generate content for breakfast shows. Assisting the breakfast producers and wider team with researching, planning and implementing content. Ensuring all of our contests are ran fairly and according to Ofcom/Global guidelines. Archiving strong content for award entries.

What you’ll need:

A thorough understanding of what makes a great travel bulletin and be able to compile a number of resources to create ‘the full picture’ The ability to demonstrate a creative flair and good judgment in order to help create compelling content. A great understanding of the brands you’ll be working with. Great interpersonal skills, and the ability to cope under pressure and respond calmly whilst managing a number of tasks at the same time Confidence when working towards your own personal objectives and the ability to help others achieve theirs. A thorough knowledge of the legal aspects involved in broadcast and all relevant areas of compliance. Experience from working in a similar type role and will be confident using digital playout systems, Adobe, online content management systems and be competent on social media including Twitter and Facebook.
