Broadcast Journalist

A full-time journalism job at JACKfm Oxfordshire in Eynsham, Witney, Oxfordshire, UK
Posted 11 June 2019, 7.52am edt

We’re a passionate and creative bunch here at JACK and we’re looking for someone who could make our top-notch news team, even stronger …

Earlier this year, we bagged THREE nominations in IRN Awards; which celebrate the best of UK commercial radio news (Newcomer of the Year, Reporter of the Year and News Team of the Year - which we came second in) and we were up for Best News Coverage (one of just 3 commercial stations nominated) at the Arias last year.

We're a small team that produces a LOT of news, reading bulletins for three local JACK stations and one of our national stations, Union JACK.

And we're truly local - based in Eynsham - but covering the news and views of the whole of Oxfordshire.

Yes, we’re looking for someone with a great voice, but aside from the on-air stuff you'll have plenty of chance to get out-and-about. One day you could be off to a crime scene, the next you might be reporting from an anti-Trump protest, then … over to compete in the World Pooh Sticks Championships!

You'll also be sourcing and writing stories, creating content for our news and Twitter pages and conducting and editing interviews. You'll need to know your media law too.

And if you're interested in getting involved in stuff outside of news, we'd love to hear your ideas. Our Senior Journo now has her very own national show! Anything's possible …

We have a laugh, we like a drink - we're a family, come join us!

This job closed on 25 June, 2019 so we’re afraid you can no longer apply for this role.
