Position: Broadcast Journalist – Pulse 1 / 2

Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire

Job Description: We have a rare and exciting opportunity to join our news and sport team at Pulse 1 and Pulse 2. Over the last two years our coverage has received nominations at the IRN Awards, O2 Media Awards and the Sport Journalism Awards and we’re looking for a top class journalist to continue that momentum. You will help to deliver engaging, relevant news and sport content across West Yorkshire; not only on-air but across our online and social platforms.

There’s plenty for you to get your teeth into, with a sizeable and diverse news patch. We’ve recently covered the Tour de Yorkshire, the opening of the multi million pound Piece Hall restoration in Halifax as well as trips to Wembley for both Bradford City and Huddersfield Town Football Clubs. Being part of Wireless Group there’s also opportunities to be heard on our sister stations: talkRADIO and talkSPORT.

Job Requirement: You will need to have a really great on air voice, a recognised journalism qualification, previous experience working in a broadcast newsroom, and a strong understanding of media law. A full driving license is essential as is the desire to work hard and ability to manage your time well. Ideally you will be familiar with West Yorkshire and the surrounding area, have mobile video production experience and be able to tell a dummy half from a centre half. The role is Monday to Friday with a likelihood of covering Breakfast News. Occasional weekend work may be required.

This job closed on 21 November, 2017 so we’re afraid you can no longer apply for this role.
