Broadcast Journalist - Signal 1 & 2
A full-time journalism job at Wireless Group in Stoke
Posted 1 March 2018, 10.53am est
Signal 1 and 2 are the most listened to radio stations in Staffordshire and Cheshire, and we are looking to expand our news team to deliver even more of the stories that are important to our audience.
We are looking for an experienced journalist who can create engaging content both on air, and online.
You will be based in our studios in Stoke-on-Trent, but will also spend plenty of time out and about covering stories across the two counties.
We won't lie - it's a challenging role that will involve finding and developing stories in our local communities, working to tight deadlines, and responding calmly and quickly to breaking news.
But no two days will ever be the same, and you will be working with an amazing group of people who really care about what they do.
In fact, one of our exclusive interviews received a nomination for last year's IRN Awards.
We are looking for someone as passionate as we are about news, who can use their initiative to produce first-class stories.
You will need:
A journalism qualification
A full driving licence
Great voice and writing skills
Good working knowledge of media law
- Experience of working on a busy news desk - both reading bulletins and reporting
We offer a competitive salary and the chance to take your journalism career to the next level in an exciting and diverse local radio environment.
Signal 1 and 2 are part of The Wireless Group (GB), with market leading local stations and national sports radio station Talksport.
Apply by sending us a copy of your CV, a bulletin demo, and statement telling us why you should be part of our team to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note, only applications that include a demo will be considered
