You will have experience of supporting automated multichannel playout facilities, have a flexible attitude and be able to work under pressure.

The successful engineer will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the technology in various radio stations managed by UKRD Group, predominantly support of Sun FM in Sunderland, Star Radio in Darlington, Yorkshire Coast Radio in Scarborough and Minster FM in York, but you’ll get your hands dirty in our other stations too!

The core duties will be broadcast IT, office IT and engineering, as well as being part of the UKRD out of hours support rota providing 24hr technical cover for business critical systems across the whole group.

You will report to the Managing Director of the station you are based at, with a dotted line reporting to the Group Technology Manager, who is responsible for the Group IT policy and strategy. You will be working alongside our existing support team.

There may be times where extended periods working away are required to complete some project work. The candidate is required to have a thorough understanding of broadcast technology, specifically needs to have experience in automation systems, file based storage and transfer and networked content storage. A good understanding of IT based technologies is therefore required as is an ability.
