Broadcast Systems/IT Engineer - West Sussex and Salisbury - Permanent

We are looking for a Broadcast Systems / IT Engineer to undertake duties for operational, maintenance and support activities on a wide range of broadcast and IT equipment. You will have experience of supporting automated multichannel playout facilities, have a flexible attitude and be able to work under pressure.

The successful engineer will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the technology in various radio stations managed by UKRD Group, predominantly supporting Spirit FM in West Sussex and Spire FM in Salisbury , but you’ll get your hands dirty in our other stations too!

The core duties will be broadcast IT, office IT and engineering, as well as being part of the UKRD out of hours support rota providing 24hr technical cover for business critical systems across the whole group.

You will report to the Sally Austin, Managing Director of Spirit FM, with a dotted line reporting to the Head of Broadcast Technology, who is responsible for the Group IT policy and strategy. You will be working alongside our existing support team.

There may be times where extended periods working away are required to complete some project work. You will be expected to have a thorough understanding of broadcast technology, specifically with respect to audio playout system’s. You will be proficient in operating Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.

You will have an understanding TCP/IP network technology, routing, firewalling and related functionality.

Experience with analogue and digital audio technology is a distinct advantage but not necessary.
