Tindle CI Broadcasting is looking for an experienced, self-motivated Commercial Manager for its market-leading radio station in Jersey – Channel 103.

The ideal candidate will provide leadership coaching and development for the local sales team to deliver outstanding results for clients.

Who We Are

Channel 103 is Jersey's favourite radio station with more than half of the island tuning in every week – rising to nine in ten people across a thirteen-week period.

We're part of the Tindle Group which owns newspapers and websites across the United Kingdom and Isle of Man as well as radio stations in Jersey, Guernsey and the republic of Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

Devise and implement a sales plan that will meet station's revenue goals with emphasis on customer-focused selling to Jersey businesses, combining airtime, sponsorship, promotions and digital solutions.

  • Identify, recruit, train, coach, manage and develop high-performance sales talent and build a successful team to ensure continued growth
  • Maintain an ongoing succession plan to ensure you have a robust subs bench
  • Develop individual performance through regular coaching, dual calling and one-to-one meetings
  • Lead weekly team meetings and training sessions to develop skills and ideas
  • Successful implementation of the sales strategy measured by client feedback, retention and new business, team retention and development, revenue growth
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with your counterpart at Island FM in Guernsey, taking responsibility for an export revenue target onto that station
  • Ensure we are delivering great solutions, results and service for our customers through regular face to face contact and reviews.
  • Actively participate in business associations to develop extensive networks, and key relationships with local influencers and decision makers
  • Lead communication with internal departments to assure quality service and implementation when placing orders and arranging promotions
  • Lead revenue initiatives (e.g. Amplify) with energy and enthusiasm
  • Provide managerial assistance with sales plans and budgeting
  • Manage inventory and reporting in RCS Aquira
  • Manage sales processes including forecasting revenue, pricing and order approvals

Our Successful Candidate Will Have…

  • A minimum of five years in media sales management with a proven track record of success
  • Proficiency in all aspects of radio and digital sales, including budgeting, accurate forecasting, use of research
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, budget procedures, daily sales accountability, inventory management and revenue collection processes
  • Tech skills including Microsoft Office suite and main social platforms
  • Highly developed training and coaching skills including; skills in organisation, delegating, interviewing and motivating sales people
  • High energy levels and achievement-oriented attitude
  • Personal impact with excellent presentation skills
  • Flexibility and creativity
