An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Content Director to join the Kiss team. You’ll work to the direction of the KISS Group Programme Director and create and produce high quality and distinct content across the Kiss platforms. As well as fulfilling a creative role, this role will cover the management duties of a team and it’s content along with the fulfilment of commercial partnerships and projects.

Main Duties & Responsibilities  The day-to-day management of shows within the programme schedule (London and full Network).  Booking of studios for pre-records and liaising with the Group Programme Director to cover presenters to fill schedule requirements.  The co-ordination of scheduled talent each week both in live and pre-recorded situations: making sure each programme is broadcast by the relevant presenter(s) to the best quality (automated or live).  The editorial and commercial needs would include:  Writing of full presenter briefs (in conjunction with S+P) including competition questions and the design of mechanics.  Responsibility for the commission of S+P demo’s working with an Imaging Producer to oversee projects  Collate audio from each promotion and organise ROT’s from programming.  Within broadcasts the Producer must make sure the companies commercial requirements are fulfilled. This covers advertising and sponsorship/promotional needs.  In Studio production with live on-air talent (working to the brief of the Group Programme Director) and an element of post-production editing with pre-recorded programming to bring content and programmes to air for future broadcast.  Monitoring of on-air output including the ‘snooping’ of talent and presenter coaching.  The search/or recommendation of new talent or one-off mix specials/DJ appearances to feature on the schedule.

  • Working with the daytime programming team to ensure the daily supply of information to daytime presenters/online team is relevant with regards to what’s on within the schedule.
  • Responsible for the recording of any outside broadcast material should the schedule require.
  • (Not essential but welcome ) Music scheduling: Working on Selector/linker and playout systems in conjunction with the Kiss Network Head of music.

Key Competencies, Knowledge & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in Live Studio producing.
  • An understanding of audio / video production techniques including the ability to operate studio and editing software.
  • Imagination and creative thinking – able to quickly transform creative ideas into engaging practical content reality.
  • Demonstrable sound editorial judgement in line with OFCOM regulations.
  • A good understanding of target audiences tastes through experience and research and create relevant content
  • Script writing skills.
  • An ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • An ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • An eye for detail and accuracy.
