A full-time journalism job at Spirit FM in Chichester

Do You Want My Job?
Hi, I’m Robyn. I’m leaving Spirit FM to go travelling and settle abroad – which means my boss Simon has to find a new assistant.
It’s a bit of a wrench leaving Spirit FM. We cover the whole of West Sussex and I love my job. The team here are great – we work hard, but have lots of fun too.
I’ve covered some top stories too: I met West Sussex astronaut Tim Peake following his groundbreaking journey into space. We’ve also helped save the A and E department at Chichester’s hospital, and got behind campaigns to help disadvantaged children in our patch.
As Deputy News Editor you’ll be involved in making key broadcast decisions, and assisting the Head of News in providing coverage both on air and online.
Jobs like this don’t come around very often – in fact they’re extremely rare. Because of that we’re looking for a first class candidate to continue delivering our first class news service.
The number of people reading our news articles online is now higher than it’s ever been, and we’re looking for someone with lots of creativity to continue that digital growth.
It’s a challenging but rewarding job. You’ll need to be able to write and present creative copy. You’ll need to know the law better than McNae and have a voice smoother than a tortoise wading through peanut butter.
In return you’ll get to work for the number one commercial radio station in West Sussex and be part of the award winning UKRD Group.
More information about the role can be found here: https://www.spiritfm.net/jobs/j/spirit-fm/deputy-news-editor-ndash-spirit-fm/22509/
Experience of using Burli is preferred and you’ll also need a full, clean driving license.
The closing date for applications is Monday 16th October 2017.
Applications without a CV or demo will not be considered for interview.
