JOB DESCRIPTION: DIGITAL EDITOR, KISS NETWORK KISS UK is a market-leading youth network broadcasting award-winning content across multiple platforms and we are looking for a new Digital Editor.

Department: Programming /Editorial Reporting to: Programme Director/ Deputy Programme Director Key Purpose of the Role: The Digital Editor will be responsible for the daily publishing and management of the Kiss website - Producing engaging content and initiatives to grow audiences online and promoting to other Kiss touch points helping to grow overall product reach and engagement. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for producing the editorial and commercial content for the KISS Network and across its emerging platforms.
  • Creating and maintaining engaging brand content across all digital multiple touch-
  • points including social media platforms working with social media producer
  • Copywriting digital material, proofreading and editing
  • Working with Programming and Marketing teams to deliver on-brand copy
  • Identifying stories, sourcing information and images
  • Working with teams within the station (Sales/S&P, Programming/Production) to
  • produce commercial and programming website content to benefit the station and its clients/advertisers
  • Responsible for updating the station’s website / app to ensure an up-to-date feel with fresh, interesting content using both in-house Content Management System and web design packages.
  • Managing databases, creating and distributing content
  • Ensure the brands are reflected online
  • Assist in developing content strategy
  • Liaise with external PR & Marketing companies as appropriate
  • Liaising with internal and external technical departments

Key Skills / Competencies and Experience

  • Must be able to provide strong design skills and display a good knowledge of design trends for web and social media
  • Good knowledge and proven experience of HTML, Adobe, Flash & Java script
  • Familiar with mobile platforms and technologies
  • Excellent understanding of social media and systems
  • Photoshop, Dreamweaver, FTP, analytics & SEO
  • Video Editing, Final Cut and audio editing systems not essential
  • Proofreading, Fluent in English
  • Understanding of middle tier CMS systems
  • Must have content management system experience.
  • Time management skills essential
  • Experience of implementing marketing campaigns online
  • Must be commercially focused and have well developed business acumen
  • Be highly literate and experienced writer
  • Passionate about digital content and developing online audiences
