We are looking to recruit a freelance Broadcast Assistant to work with us in our brand new studio based in the beautiful surroundings of the Greater Manchester countryside. The initial contract is part-time (2 days per week) for 3 months.

Main Duties:

• Completing rough edits of audio interviews using Adobe Audition
• Organisation of raw and edited files on our cloud-based system
• Basic social media management
• Occasional basic administration tasks
• Assist our Producer in shaping podcast episodes and ideas

Essential:

• Own laptop that is able to run Adobe Audition (Creative Cloud)
• University degree in Radio Production / Broadcasting / Media Production or minimum 2 years working in professional broadcast
• Proficient in using Adobe Audition
• Able to perform natural sounding audio edits
• Have a firm understanding of pacing
• Basic audio mixing skills
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
• A positive can-do attitude
• Passionate about podcasting, speech radio and audio storytelling
• Creative, embraces innovation and follows trends within the industry

Desirable:

• Clean driving licence and own car
• Experience working in network radio / public radio
• Experience in video editing using Adobe Premiere
• Experience interview gathering
• Experience in writing engaging copy / show notes
