UKRD stations across the South region require talented freelance broadcast journalists to join their freelance pool
Fancy having some fun at the same time as working hard and achieving great results?
UKRD prides itself on being a great place to work, whether you’ve been here for 20 plus years or just pop in for two or three shifts a week.
With stations all over the country, the south coast has some of the busiest news patches, all providing local news to the audience that listens to us and trusts us.
Oh – and some cracking beaches to head to when the weather’s nice in the summer!
Now the UKRD South region is looking for freelancers who can help set the news agenda across Sussex, Dorset, South Wiltshire and West Hampshire, presenting innovative sounding bulletins as well as creating compelling content that more than a million people across the south read online every month.
You’ll need a great voice, tight copy-writing skills and the ability to think about news in a new way. You’ll be producing bulletins for Spirit FM, Wessex FM and Spire FM (not all at once!), our sister 70s stations and our Alexa flash briefings.
Creating multi-platform content for our website and social media channels will also form a major part of your day.
You’ll be working for some of the most listened to radio stations in the country according to RAJAR, and trusted news sources.
Knowledge of Burli and areas of the south coast would also be a big help. Any applications without demos won’t be considered though.
