Freelance Broadcast Journalist

A freelance and contract journalism job at Pirate FM in Redruth, UK
Posted 25 November 2019, 9.43am est

Do you love Cornwall? Do you love radio? Are you a qualified broadcast journalist?

If the answer to those questions is yes then Pirate FM needs you!

We are looking for freelance journalists to join our radio/digital news team, working in one of the biggest and busiest news patches in the country. (Think stories like extreme weather events such as the flash floods at Coverack and the chance to interview stars like Poldark’s Aidan Turner!)

Not only will you need a great on-air voice and tight copy-writing skills, you’ll have the ability to think about the news in a new way because producing informative and entertaining content for our website and social media platforms will be a big part of your working day.

This job is not 9am – 5pm. Our freelancers will be asked to cover holiday leave and support our news team during major stories, like those helping to cover the snap election two weeks before Christmas.

You’ll also be expected to work busy weekend shifts, reading and producing bulletins for Pirate FM and UKRD’s sister station – Eagle Radio in Guildford.

This job closed on 23 December, 2019 so we’re afraid you can no longer apply for this role.
