Freelance Broadcast Journalists
A temporary journalism job at Revolution 96.2 in Oldham, Manchester
Posted 10 February 2018, 8.07am est
Revolution 96.2 is the commercial radio station for East Manchester. We've doubled our radio news output since 2015, and are launching a digital news service with the Oldham Chronicle brand to further solidify our commitment to local news.
We're currently looking to recruit freelance broadcast journalists to cover holidays, and to be available for larger stories, or breaking news which require extra resources. In the first instance, we require a 3-week period of paternity leave to be covered in March.
Ideally, you'll be based in and around the north-west and already be freelancing at commercial or BBC stations. You’ll be preparing and reading hourly radio bulletins, be expected to manage our news social media output, and fulfill our tri-media requirement for content (radio, digital, press). This is a busy but hugely rewarding role in a fiercely independent multi-media newsroom.
Experience with Burli, RCS Zetta and Aiir CMS is preferred, but not essential as you'll be given full training before any on air shifts. Newly qualified candidates will be considered if your on-air reading and writing skills are exceptional.
Please send a CV and a short mp3 of examples of your work to Kevin Bailey, Programme Director email@example.com
