Freelance Broadcast Journalists

A freelance and contract journalism job at Radio Exe in Exeter
Posted 18 July 2018, 10.21am edt

Radio Exe is searching for freelance journalists to source and write stories, record and edit interviews, then compile and read bulletins at weekends on our successful commercial station in Devon. An independent company based in Exeter, we broadcast across much of the county on DAB and across Exeter, Mid and East Devon on FM.

You’ll be:

  • An excellent communicator with a great voice

  • Comfortable broadcasting live and, where necessary, interacting with presenters

  • Conversant with all relevant journalistic guidelines, including the Broadcast Code

  • A fast worker; as well as the hourly routine of bulletins, you’ll be updating our website and providing content for our social media platforms

  • Adept with studio technologies; ideally RCS’s Burli news software and Zetta playout system (training can be given)

  • Able to cope with tight deadlines and competing demands on your time

Please don’t apply if:

  • You want to be out and about reporting live from the scene of events as they happen or at press conferences, because this is a studio-based job

  • You don’t know much about Devon
This job closed on 15 August, 2018 so we’re afraid you can no longer apply for this role.
