Freelance Journalist (cover work)

A freelance and contract journalism job at Imagine FM in Stockport, United Kingdom
Posted 25 May 2015, 10.49pm edt

Imagine FM is looking for Broadcast Journalists who would be available for cover work on an occasional basis. Applicants will have a good on air voice, great writing skills and be preferably qualified to NCTJ or BJTC level.

You’ll be covering a busy patch of South Manchester and Cheshire stretching from Didsbury in the North, Marple in the East, Altrincham and Knutsford in the West and Wilmslow and Alderley Edge in the South.

You’ll need to be capable of taking responsibility for editorial decisions ensuring the newsroom operates to the best of its abilities. Also you will make sure that everything you do is compliant with legal and broadcast regulations.

Applicants need to be self motivated workers, with an eye for a story and good time management skills.

Experience using Myriad News 4 would be helpful, but not essential, and it also wouldn’t hurt if you know your way around Adobe Audition/Cool Edit.

So if you’re looking for a challenge we want to hear from you!

This job closed on 23 June, 2015 so we’re afraid you can no longer apply for this role.
