Job description Gem is looking for an experienced, driven and creative Marketing Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting Gem in terms of both its on-air output and its multi-platform digital products to existing and potential listeners and B2B clients, with the primary objectives of increasing brand visibility, awareness and consumption. They will also be responsible for devising and activating the station’s social media content.

RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS

This role requires a candidate who is a true self-starter, with extensive experience of building strategic marketing partnerships with closely aligned 3rd parties. They also need to be confident in developing and managing both new and existing marketing ideas and station events; creating innovative commercial partnerships to commercialise and generate revenue for the station; and working closely with multiple internal departments to ensure successful delivery of a wide variety of projects. They should also have experience of using digital media channels (in particular social media) to extend brand reach and deepen relationships with listeners/customers.

The ideal candidate will already have, or be able to build quickly, a strong network of external partners across the station’s East Midlands transmission area.

Candidates must be highly organised with excellent communication skills, as well as having experience of managing people. This person will also be responsible for generating ideas and copy for use across a variety of marketing channels including PR, social media, web content, email content and B2B communications amongst others.

Working with a close-knit team within the station, they must be able to communicate confidently at all levels and have the ability to liaise with several departments in order to fulfil the stations brand and marketing requirements.
