Description: We are on the lookout for a Media Tutor to join our team on a part time basis in September.
Working a maximum of three days per week, the successful candidate will train young participants in a number of media skills, ranging from Radio Broadcasting to Creative Writing, whilst helping them study for an NCFE qualification through our Media Academy.
The ideal candidate must be up for a challenge as this job is for our outreach programme, working with a small number of students who have been excluded or permanently expelled from mainstream education. The successful candidate must have experience in working with disadvantaged young people and be capable of motivating them and helping them work through their issues with the ultimate goal of either getting them back into school full time or gaining them an education.
In addition, the successful candidate must be open to fresh learning ideas and have some media industry experience, working in Radio, TV/Video Production, Design or Creative Writing, as our ethos is to learn through work rather than through text books. This includes the ability to operate a radio studio, plan and present a show, the ability to plan, film, edit and produce a video and more.
Candidates must be computer literate and have an extensive knowledge of the media industry. Please notes all successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS Check prior to commencing work and must also complete safeguarding and first aid training.
*Please note this role is subject to funding from our partners and may be reduced to 1-2 days per week. The role is also subject to an eight week probation period.
