Multi-media journalist Celador Radio Based Norwich

What’s the job?

This is an exciting opportunity ideally suited to someone looking for the first step in their broadcast journalism career. You’ll have the opportunity to put your multi-media training and early experience into practice in a busy regional newsroom.

What will I have to do?

Duties will include sourcing & writing local radio news stories, compiling bulletins, reading, recording & despatching bulletins (as required), preparing social media messages, monitoring opposition media, newsgathering (reporting) and writing & preparing online material. Contact building.

What do I need for this job?

Essentially, a journalism qualification, clean driving licence, ability to write conversational English, a good broadcasting voice, and strong knowledge of social media and online journalism. You’ll have an awareness of OFCOM regulations and media law. You’ll also be passionate about local news and information, have a keen eye for detail and have a good work ethic.

What else?

A ‘can-do attitude’ is a must, a love of communication, interest in local and community news, creativity, an inquiring mind, respectful personality, and good contact building skills.

Where could I be working?

The opportunity is in our Norwich newsroom, but you’ll be expected to cover stories throughout our five broadcast areas in North Essex, Suffolk & Norfolk.
