This role will be based SINO’s offices, in Battersea London. www.sino.uk Sino is part of the UK division of GBTIMES.

What we are looking for
 We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated English speaking digital editor to drive forward our social and web activities. The successful candidate will understand what content will be relevant for our English speaking listeners and users. They are interested in China, Chinese culture and the opportunities that working with China can bring. You must have good knowledge of Chinese related news, culture and businesses. You will be pro-active and able to be flexible about working hours.

Responsibilities will include and are not limited to:

  • To increase multi-media content production for digital platforms including Sino.co.uk , SINO UK mobile app, gbtimes.com, and our associated social media platforms, including SINO, GBTIMES, as well as the partners such as CRI English and their China Plus mobile app
  • Planning researching and writing content in English for the website(s), radio and other media
  • Editing and proofreading articles and other content
  • Online editorial point of contact between gbtimes Finland and UK office
  • Publishing and promoting content through social media channels both organically and via paid campaigns.
  • Planning, implementing and reporting back on each social media campaign.
  • Ensuring SEO of articles within website and via social media platforms
  • Planning, filming and post producing radio and video interviews then embedding them within websites and across social media platforms
  • Undertake editing, interviewing and reporting duties as necessary. What skills you will have


Skills will include and are not limited to:

  • Hold higher education in a media related field and have experience of working for a China related company, either in UK or China
  • Strong journalistic writing skills especially journalistic work related to Sino UK both culturally and business relationship
  • Good understanding of editing video and audio for radio and TV.
  • In-depth experience of using online content management systems and successfully managing high impact social media campaigns.
  • Some knowledge of Chinese Social Media Platforms especially Weibo and WeChat
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good understanding of optimising written content for web.
