A full-time journalism job at Stray FM in Harrogate
Posted 12 April 2018, 8.10am edt

Do you have a passion for local journalism?

Are you confident in your abilities, both as a broadcaster and a reporter, to produce top quality, original stories, relevant to a target market?

Have you had experience of building an audience online, through the effective use of high-quality content, social media and SEO techniques?

If the answer to all of those questions is yes, then Stray FM would like to hear from you.

Stray FM, based in Harrogate and part of the UKRD group, is on the look-out for an outstanding Multimedia/Broadcast Journalist.

The ideal candidate would have an excellent voice, an eye for a good story and razor-sharp editorial judgement.

Experience of working on a radio news desk is essential.

You will be responsible for putting together and reading hourly news bulletins, while demonstrating a hunger for getting out of the office and tracking down original stories.

You will also take a lead in producing original, locally-sourced, online news content, to drive the continued growth of Stray FM’s website.

As a key member of the Content Team you’ll be comfortable meeting and interviewing members of the public, local officials and representatives of the local business community.

As part of the UKRD Group you’ll receive on-going training to help you develop, along with five weeks paid holiday, pension contributions and a profit share bonus scheme.

You’ll need sound legal knowledge and you’ll have loads of ideas on how to better use our content in a multimedia era.

A full driving license is essential and experience of Burli is an advantage, although full training will be provided.

This job closed on 6 May, 2018 so we’re afraid you can no longer apply for this role.
