We’re looking for an experienced hit-music-loving producer to join the Capital Network team. Working on one of Capital’s flagship shows, you'll be creating cutting edge content involving some of the World’s biggest stars, broadcasting across the UK’s No.1 Hit Music Station!

Your finger will be firmly on the pulse of all the latest music trends & celebrity gossip, while your multi-platform awareness must be at the forefront of all your strategic planning/ decision-making. You’ll also play a key part in the planning of key brand activity such as our world-famous Summertime Ball and Jingle Bell Ball.

This show is a key player in the market for engaging our 15-34 millennial audience in our daily music conversations.

What we expect of you:

  • We’re looking for a creative and pro-active producer with experience and knowledge of working with a youth brand audience. You will have extraordinary management skills, creativity and strategic planning – striving to do things differently to help us remain a leader in the industry.
  • You'll be full of ideas but also possess the ability to stimulate others to create great content. * You'll always be thinking further ahead, and thinking strategically.
  • A natural problem solver, together with your creative flair and judgment you'll choose the right programming solutions for Global.
  • You'll know and respond positively to the needs and expectations of others to achieve the right outcome. You'll understand the target audience inside out and have a sound understanding on how to grow audiences.
  • You'll be confident when working towards your own personal objectives as well as helping others in achieving business goals, regularly setting and stretching new standards and goals.
  • You'll have loads of experience from working in a similar type of role.
  • You'll be confident using Genesys, Adobe, GUSTO online content management systems (or similar) and should be competent on social media including Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You'll report directly to the Managing Editor of Capital and work very closely with the Management Team and the on air talent to produce a show that targets and grows the station's core audience. You will also be required to work with the digital, press and marketing teams to ensure it gets maximum exposure driving listenership.
  • You will be responsible for all elements of the show; from generating ideas to recording and editing content. You'll work in the live show environment on a daily basis, and drive planning and creative sessions for the show each day.
  • You'll be obsessed with the finer details that go into making every piece of content succeed and have a natural thirst to make things better the following day.
  • You will take the lead on social media, finding new and exciting ways to engage and grow followers using the show's tone of voice.
  • You'll have a thorough understanding of broadcast regulations and law, and be able to apply this understanding in the pressure of a live studio environment.
  • You’ll work closely with our Guest booking team to ensure the best names are coming on the show with the best ideas for their time. You will also have to manage relationships with record companies, film companies and other external contributors. You’ll keep the show diary up-to-date making sure we have a regular flow of relevant guests and the show is reflective of what our core demographic are talking about.
  • You’ll liaise with the key departments across Global Radio including marketing, online, press & engineering to get the best from the planned content.
