Each year we unite our friends in the music and entertainment business and our listeners to MAKE SOME NOISE and raise money to change young lives. We raise funds in a variety of ways including broadcast appeals, events, corporate partnerships, schools’ partnerships, treks, runs and digital. The ability to add sparkle to our fundraising mechanics makes us a unique and exciting charity.

  • ‘The Big Music Project’ (funded by the Big Lottery Fund) helps disadvantaged young people with employability skills and access opportunities in the creative industries.

 

The team you will be joining:

You will be joining our Partnerships and Events team, who build lasting relationships with our Corporate Supporters and Global’s Regional Commercial teams throughout the UK. The team also manage key events including our flagship gala dinner.

As Events and Partnerships Executive, you will work within the Make Some Noise Partnerships Team, alongside the Events and Partnerships Manager, Partnerships Managers and Head of Fundraising and Partnerships.

The purpose of this role is to support the Partnerships Team in all areas of account and relationship management including Global’s 8 brands, corporate partners, major donors, gift in kind supporters and third parties, all in support of GMSN – with particular attention on prizes.

 You will also work alongside the wider charity team, offering support where necessary. 

Day to day duties:

  • Working alongside the partnerships team to secure Make Some Noise support

  • Supporting Events and Partnerships Manager on all GMSN events and campaigns, with particular focus on Global’s Make Some Noise Night in November 2017

  • Leading on new business for Gifts in Kind, cold calling potential new donors and securing their support

  • Working with companies to secure prizes to support Make Some Noise appeal in October and fundraising night in November

  • Account management of winners database ensuring prizes are delivered efficiently and effectively

  • Strengthen donor relationships by providing exceptional account management 

  • Continual updating of our database including clients, agents, donors, prizes winners and companies

  • Responsible for ensuring all prizes editorial and images are approved by all parties involved

  • Assisting with account admin including databases, invoices, payments and processes 

  • Writing copy and Terms and Conditions for on-air prizes and event auction items

  • Supporting wider charity team in all areas when needed, especially at appeal time

 

Job responsibilities:

  • Deliver the highest level of service to key clients and partners through attentive account management and a thorough and efficient understanding / representation of partner requirements

  • Develop strong working relationships with partners, donors, major donors and supporters, to ensure GMSN becomes a partner of choice and secures long-term support

  • Identify, recruit and account manage partnerships with companies and individuals, in order to hit revenue and Gift in Kind targets

  • Work alongside our Campaign Management team (who manage the relationship with the Global brands, platforms and listeners) to integrate key client messaging where appropriate

  • Work alongside the Events and Partnerships Manager to proactively target potential partners, donors and supporters

  • Input in all evaluations and reporting across all activities, appeals and fundraising events

  • Managing logistics and documentation around celebrity attendance at events (taxis, timings, dietary requirements)

  • Writing copy and Terms and Conditions for prize implementation forms

  • Provide support to the Events and Partnerships Manager to deliver Global’s Make Some Noise Night – our exclusive gala dinner event that takes place in November

  • Responsible for the guest list and all guest communications for flagship event

  • Work with Event Manager to secure high-level live and silent auction prizes for Global’s Make Some Noise Night

  • Work closely with auction technology supplier to ensure all runs smoothly at the event

Qualifications & skills

  • Sales: confidence to cold call companies to request support

  • Interpersonal skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effectively communicating, building rapport and relating to others at all levels

  • Attention to detail: The ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task, ensuring everything is up to a Global standard

  • Time Management: Experience with planning and prioritising with the ability to work under pressure and to strict budgets and deadlines

  • Goal orientation: focused on setting and exceeding personal and organisational goals

  • Creative thinking: ability to problem solve and develop new ideas

  • Continuous learning: taking initiatives in learning and implementing new concepts and ideas

 

Experience required: 

  • Minimum of 1 years working experience managing partnerships or corporate accounts and/or in a new business or sales environment

  • Previous experience of working directly with clients, corporates or major donors

  • Experience of proactive new business activity including cold calling, pitching and producing written applications and presentations

  • Experience in managing and implementing campaigns for clients and partners

  • Experience working with clients to source and deliver high value prizes and experiences

  • Track record of delivering under pressure – comfortable with working to strict KPIs

  • Knowledge of and passion for fundraising and/or the commercial sector

  • A knowledge of radio/media industry and the opportunities it offers would be desirable
