HWD Hospital Radio celebrated an amazing 65 years on the air in 2017. Our first broadcast was a live commentary on a rugby match at Batley's Mount Pleasant stadium in 1952. It received so many compliments, commentaries were then broadcast on a more regular basis.
The station is a major training ground for today's professional broadcasters, with former members presenting the breakfast show on three local stations as well as weekday presenters on others.
We're looking for volunteer presenters to join our busy schedule, particularly weekday evenings.
Full training will be given, but a passion for broadcasting is essential.
