Wise Buddah are looking for an experienced, organised and talented Radio Producer to work on flagship programmes for national BBC networks.

What you will be doing:

The candidate will be responsible for producing exceptional radio content for weekly transmission on national BBC networks. With this, comes great responsibility for editorial, planning, programme compliance and upholding key values of fair dealing, accuracy, impartiality, trust and integrity. You will find new ways to connect with audiences and identify interesting content and formats.

You will be producing content that is primarily for traditional broadcast but also integrates with alternative delivery methods – iPlayer, social media, mobile, and other platforms.

You may manage staff, budgets and contribute to the team effort of developing and implementing network strategy and new departmental execution methods.

You will contribute and pitch ideas for the programme, packages, contributors, online content, events and social media projects.

You will work predominantly in a live environment – but also with prerecorded material in both music and speech based programming.

We are looking for someone who:

Has extensive experience of producing and editing network music radio shows for the BBC or in a commercial radio environment in a pre-recorded and live studio environment.

Has excellent communication skills and experience of running a production team.

Has experience of developing and managing a variety of high profile presentation talent.

Is confidently able to edit and use the BBC VCS system or similar editing technology such as Dalet.

Has a practical understanding and ability to execute BBC editorial guidelines – with particular emphasis on music compliance.

Is highly organised, is able to react quickly and confidently within the demands of a fast paced show and is able to deliver highly polished programmes for the network.

Is meticulous when it comes to forward planning, booking guests, writing scripts and delivery of paperwork required by the network.

Is passionate and knowledgeable about music across a variety of genres and has excellent contacts within the music industry.

Is confidently able to programme music sequences to high standard.

Is completely familiar with both studio and mobile technical equipment, and capable of achieving the best quality of standards with both.

Has an adequate understanding of health and safety practices and what is required to achieve best practice whilst undertaking this role – both in the studio and whilst recording on location.

Is willing to work outside of standard office hours, including weekends.

Is creative and willing to bring new ideas to the shows

Is good at working under pressure and to tight deadlines

Can think of new and creative ways to use and engage with social media

Applicants must have ability to be responsible for ensuring content complies with all relevant BBC and external (e.g. Ofcom) guidelines and legislation.
