A full-time other job at SSVC in Chalfont St Peter, United Kingdom
Posted 23 May 2016, 10.52am edt

BFBS Radio broadcasts to the British Forces and their families around the world. We are currently looking for an administrator & content coordinator to support the team – entertaining, informing and connecting forces audiences around the world.

Working from our HQ in Chalfont St. Peter, your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks – from handling correspondence and telephone enquiries to organising meetings, taking minutes and processing a variety of internal forms and invoices. The successful candidate will also update and create articles for our website and social media channels, so you’ll fit in perfectly if you have great ideas and like to try new things.

As well as identifying content opportunities for linear radio output and social media platforms, you’ll monitor 3rd party programme information, learn to script continuity cues and prepare & publish transmission schedules.

In addition to previous administrative experience, you will be able to communicate with people at all levels, have excellent attention to detail, and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of Adobe Photoshop/Premier Pro or similar would be beneficial.

You will have an outgoing personality, a good sense of humour and work calmly while surrounded by creative chaos. Other key qualities include having a can-do attitude, ability to multi-task, be a good team player and be willing to go the extra mile to support the morale and welfare of our unique audience.

From time to time, the successful candidate will be asked to visit/overnight at other BFBS locations in the UK and attend off-site events or outside broadcasts. These visits can take place at weekends or in the evenings so flexibility is an important quality. For the most part though, the position is full-time, Monday to Friday, (9.00 am – 5.30 pm).

Whilst this is not an on-air role, it will suit someone who has an interest in or understanding of the creative radio industry. Knowledge of the Armed Forces would be a distinct advantage. A full UK driving licences and willingness to drive company cars are essential.

This job closed on 6 June, 2016 so we’re afraid you can no longer apply for this role.
