London radio station knocked off-air

London radio station, Time 107.5 FM, is temporarily off air following a lightning strike.

A severe electrical storm hit much of London last night, following days of hot weather. The transmitter for the radio station, based in Romford, is thought to have been hit by lightning.

Station manager Lorna Waters highlighted the odds of being hit by lightning as "a one in a million chance. I wish we had won the lottery instead," she added, optimistically.

Time 107.5 FM hopes to be back on air within the next 48 hours. Meanwhile, it's still available online.

People have a one in three million chance of being hit by lightning in the UK, though the chance of a transmitter being hit is rather higher. The odds for winning the lottery are actually one in fourteen million; the odds for getting five numbers and the bonus ball are closer to the chance of being hit by lightning.
