Next Radio

The Next Radio radio ideas conference, on September 14th in central London, completed its speaker announcement list this morning with a record-breaking 28 speakers.

The conference, held at the Royal Institution in central London, is now in its fifth year. Previous conferences are all carried free on the Next Radio website. The title sponsor is Broadcast Bionics.

The event is organised by Folder Media's Matt Deegan and media.info's James Cridland. The conference is aimed at anyone making great radio - and promises no suits, no panels, and nothing that lasts longer than 18 minutes.

The full speaker list has now been published.

Among the speakers are Jonathan Wall, the Controller of BBC Radio 5 live and BBC Radio 5 live Sports Extra; Valerie Geller from US-based Geller Media International, South Africa's 5FM programme director Tim Zunckel, and Xfm breakfast presenter Tim Cocker. Speakers from 7digital and Facebook are also slated to appear.

Tickets are still available for the event, and can be purchased online.

In an exclusive statement to media.info, joint organiser James Cridland noted how difficult it was writing a story about his own event without it looking too much like a big advert. "It's really difficult", he typed, "so I had an idea of writing a jokey paragraph at the end. Now I've got to find an image from Flickr and publish this. This one with James Rea looks good," he added, before copy and pasting this text into this website's content management system.
