The Role: Islam Channel Ltd is seeking a passionate Broadcast IT Engineer to support on key projects and deliver to the performance standards required. The successful candidate will be results driven and thrive in a busy, fast paced environment whilst ensuring IT and telecommunications infrastructure support is delivered to a high standard and helpdesk support is provided to all staff. Flexibility is a key requirement and the successful candidate will be required to work out of usual hours as and when required to meet business needs in a 24/7 environment.

The successful candidate:

• Possess previous employment/work experience in a similar capacity and ideally within the media television broadcast industry
• Previous IT helpdesk experience a distinct advantage
• Basic working knowledge/experience with Linux ( RedHat / CentOS ) with knowledge of Zimbra
• Basic working knowledge or experience of Cisco with experience in TCP/IP networking, security and firewalls configurations ( Dell Sonic Wall / Cisco ASA) Cisco CCNA certification is a distinct advantage
• Mastering Windows 2003 R2/Windows 2008 R2 /Windows 2012 R2 Storage
• Mastering Active Directory/File Sharing/Exchange mail server /Network printer
• Strong knowledge of Windows 7 Pro/Windows 8 / MS Office suite(2007/2010)
• Basic knowledge/experience in installation, configuring and maintenance of Mac OSX Workstations: Maverick and later OS versions and editing suites like FCP and Adobe Premier.
• Mastering Kaspersky Lab centre Antivirus
• Windows based play-out and studio automation systems with redundancy plus their client machines able to play-out 4 channels simultaneously operational 24/7.
• Be able to evaluate and procure all IT related products and services through appropriate vendors
• Good communication skills, quick learner, responsible and able to support the IT Manager and take lead/accountability as and when required on key projects
• Liaise with other department heads to accommodate their requirements within constraints.
• General knowledge of broadcast systems and past experience with Vector box play - out system would be an advantage
