Are you an experienced digital journalist with a background in regional or national news and a real interest in the Armed Forces?

Do you have strong creative ideas to drive traffic, increase engagement and build a community? Are you an innovative user of social media? Are you interested in developing video and audio story-telling? Do you relish the challenge of digital transformation?

We are looking for an editor for the Forces Network (forces.net) – a brand new portal dedicated to the UK Armed Forces and the military world in general. The Forces Network is the new umbrella online home of Forces News, Forces TV, and Forces Radio – BFBS, plus our other services for the military.

Your job, a key role in the organisation, will be to encourage, develop and cajole an enthusiastic and brilliantly capable team who are still honing their digital skills alongside already very busy jobs.

You will curate, write, edit and maybe even shoot video (we can train you if necessary). You will come up with great ideas for campaigns and features. You will work closely with our TV and radio teams, and our digital product owner, to make forces.net the go-to destination for anyone interested in the Armed Forces.

All of this means you will need to be an experienced leader as well as being very hands-on in creating and editing content.
