Made in Liverpool is looking to recruit a multi-skilled, talented and creative all-rounder to take a leadership role in its Entertainment programmes team. The successful candidate will have the expertise to produce outstanding and compelling shows that reflect the diversity and interests of the Made in Liverpool audience. They will have particular responsibility for our eclectic magazine show “The Lowdown – Liverpool” along with opportunities to pitch programme ideas before taking them` forward to production.

Made in Liverpool employs producers who have a passion for television and an understanding of creative storytelling. The job is demanding calls for a combination of skills required to plan, prepare, shoot/acquire and post-produce content for the channel. The Entertainment team is a fast paced environment, so the ability to remain calm and operate effectively under pressure is essential. Salary: On Application

Key Responsibilities are to:

Inspire and manage the Entertainment team to create content for the daily magazine show “The Lowdown – Liverpool”. You will ‘lead from the front’ in researching, filming and editing packages alongside other presenters and editors. Willingness to appear on camera as an occasional presenter will be an advantage.

Think creatively about telling stories to local viewers – developing original ideas for programmes – series and specials – of every kind.

Develop ideas, produce budgets and work to them in directing the “Ents team”, self-shooting on smaller projects. You will also be able to edit content quickly and efficiently, adding flair and ensuring high production values.

Work on a rolling rota, which will include weekends, to facilitate the coverage required in the vibrant Liverpool city region.

Required Skills:

It’s unlikely that we’d consider your application if your expertise does not include these key requirements:

  • A media degree or demonstrable experience of your ability to conceive, shoot and edit remarkable content.
  • Ability to self-shoot on various camera formats.
  • Ability to edit, using Premiere Pro, while knowledge of other Adobe Creative Cloud programs would be an advantage.
    • Ability to manage your time effectively, Entertainment is a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Good camera and editing skills, with the ability to work well under pressure of tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills: Experience in TV broadcast. Confident presentation on camera and voice over skills. Clean UK Driving License.
