To lead our live content production and development, we are currently looking for a Head of Live Sports.


In a nutshell

As Head of Live Sports, you’ll lead Red Bull Media Network’s live content production and development across both traditional broadcast and digital channels. You’ll set the strategic voice and tone for all live production to deliver world class standards of storytelling in live broadcast whether produced internally or externally. Thereby, you’ll emphasize that the content fits with overall brand/network strategy and targeted audience needs – across sports, music and culture content.

Team management

You’ll manage and motivate a team of international live producers based at HQ and remotely in the UK and USA to produce best category live content across a variety of diverse channels; owned, operated and shared in the Red Bull Media Network. You’ll develop and guide Red Bull regional producers to produce live content with a credible voice and authentic tone across the categories of sports, esports, music and culture to deliver a highly engaged viewing experience.

Implement best practices & production innovation globally

You’ll develop and implement best practice production standards across the variety of broadcast and social channels to fit high and low budgets, as well as commercial needs. Additionally, you’ll demonstrate a clear understanding of production innovation in the digital space as well as knowledge of best practice in broadcasting. Thereby, creating cost-effective live formats that can be rolled out globally.

Understand analytics and viewer behavior and brief producers and partners accordingly

You’ll understand audience analytics and viewer behavior and translate this data into production briefings that fit the key strategic needs of Red Bull Media Network. Furthermore, you’ll coordinate and brief producers, production companies and stakeholders to achieve a common goal of delivering more people, more often and longer to live productions in the Red Bull Media Network.

Define rights and deliverables together with rights acquisition team


Minimum 10 years of experience in a live production environment BA preferred Experience as an Executive Producer or another similar position in the broadcast industry Deep knowledge of live television production – for broadcast television platforms and digital platforms/social media A passion for sports and a knowledge of live culture and entertainment production is essential Experience in working with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced and ever changing environment Natural ability to combine structured preparation and reaction to short-notice change Ability to communicate production strategy efficiently and reliably Proficiency in English
