ENTERTAINMENT PRODUCER / VIDEO JOURNALIST

Made in Leeds are looking for a talented and creative all-rounder to join the entertainment team. The right candidate will have the necessary skills to make outstanding and compelling programmes that reflects the diversity and interests of the Made in Leeds audience. You will have unrivalled opportunity to pitch programme ideas before taking them forward into production.

Made in Leeds employs producers who have a passion for television and an understanding of creative storytelling. The right candidate needs to be able to plan, prepare, acquire and post-produce content for the channel. The Entertainment team is a fast paced environment, so the ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure is essential. Salary: On Application

Key Responsibilities: As a producer, you will work as part of the Entertainment team to:

  • Work collectively with the Entertainment team to create content for our daily magazine show, The Lowdown. You will be expected to research, film and edit packages alongside other producers. Willingness to appear on camera as an occasional presenter is an advantage.
  • Think creatively about telling stories to local viewers – developing original ideas for programmes of every kind.
  • Be able to develop ideas, produce budgets and manage a production team, self-shooting on smaller projects. You will also be able to edit content quickly and efficiently, adding flair and high production values.
  • Work on a rolling rota, which will include weekends, to facilitate the content needs of Entertainment programming.

Required Skills: It’s unlikely that we’d consider your application if you’re unable to fulfil the required skills below:

  • A media degree or demonstrable experience of your ability to conceive, shoot and edit remarkable content.
  • Ability to self-shoot on various camera formats.
  • Ability to edit using Premiere Pro. Knowledge of other Adobe Creative Cloud programs is an advantage.
  • Ability to manage your time effectively, Entertainment is a fast-pace environment.
  • Good camera and editing skills, with the ability to work well under pressure of tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in TV broadcast.
  • Confident presentation on camera and voice over skills.
  • Clean UK Driving License.
