Multimedia Video Journalist
Made in Leeds, part of the UK’s largest Local TV network – Made Television, is looking for a multi-skilled Video Journalist for an immediate start. The right candidate will be covering a multitude of topics that matter to the people of Leeds.
Salary: TBC
The Role: The candidate will be a confident, self-shooting and self-editing reporter, with a flair for original storytelling and a passion for local news. You will also be required to help the news team to deliver online and digital content. The successful candidate must be willing to learn the production side of our news programming, by helping out in the studio and gallery.
Key Responsibilities:
Working alongside the News Editor to:
-Report on and video edit daily news packages -Develop original story ideas -Manage and maintain the news feed on the website -Manage social media pages -Help to produce the twice nightly news programme On the Aire -Operate the studio and gallery for news production
Required Skills* -BJTC, NCTJ or equivalent accredited journalist with relevant newsroom experience. -Strong knowledge of media law, the court process, and the Ofcom Broadcasting Code. -Basic knowledge of the Leeds news patch, key communities and major agenda items. -Proven camera and production skills. Ability to edit quickly and with precision to produce a quality, editorially sound item.
Preferred Skills: Varied experience in a broadcast (preferably television) newsroom. Ability to shoot on JVC 650 ProHD or equivalent cameras. Ability to edit using the Adobe Creative Cloud – namely Adobe Premiere Pro.
